Thirsty, 2023

Two-channel HD video (color, sound; 2:15 minutes)

"Thirsty," the title of this piece, delves into the profound impact of technology on popular culture and probes the intricate connections between the virtual and the tangible in various ways. It explores the potential of computer-generated spaces as avenues for exploration. Using a blend of montage, music, and tactile imagery, the work presents a surreal, dystopian landscape that invokes a sense of unsettling, dreamlike familiarity, balancing on the precipice between comfort and discomfort.

Through this creative process, I am scrutinizing the complex relationship between reality and virtual representation. I am crafting a realm that maintains its allure as a realm of fantasy and projection, all the while remaining tethered to real-life experiences. It offers an intimate encounter where the viewer can simultaneously feel both at ease and overwhelmed.
